Sword Reward by Tenyo Magic(By Takayuki Kumazawa of TENYO MAGIC, Japan) Regarding the creator: Mr. Takayuki Kumazawa has
not been the most prolific of Tenyo creators, but when he does come up with
something, it is quite good. This trick is better than good. It seems to me to
have been (perhaps subconsciously) inspired by Dr. Sawa’s Classic “Crash Dice”.
But it works in reverse, if that means something to you. Here is the
Effect: A small clear box with
removable lid is displayed, as well as a coin with a hole through the center
(it is designed to be used with a Japanese coin, 5 yen or 50 yen, but anything
you have on hand will do), a small star made of wire about the size of the
coin, and a cocktail sword made of mental. The star and coin are placed inside
the box, the lid put on, and the sword is inserted through a hole in the lid.
The sword goes straight down, through the hole in the center of the coin, and
into the base. The box is given a quick shake, and the coin and star have
changed position.
This is easy as pie to do,
and it is a quick effect. Mr. So Sato has an additional handling explained in
the instructions, that allows the spectator to choose either coin or star (NO magician’s choice) and a magical
occurrence takes place. I much prefer this to the simpler handling, so do not
overlook it. |
